Residential New Installations

Fully Automatic Systems

Enables the generator to start and shutdown whether or not anyone is at home. The automatic transfer switch (ATS) detects when a utility power failure occurs and signals the generator to start. In thirty seconds or less, the automatic transfer switch transfers the predetermined electrical load to the generator. The generator will run under load until normal utility power is restored, at which time, the ATS will detect the restoration and signal the generator to transfer the load back to normal utility power, cool down and shut down the generator. The generator is also programmed to run a 20 minute test run one time per week, which helps to ensure that the generator is operating properly and ready to perform when you need it.

Fuel Types

Propane Generators, Natural Gas Generators, Diesel Generators

Standby generators can run on various fuel types; Natural Gas, Liquid Propane (LP), or Diesel. The most common fuel used in residential standby generator applications is propane since it is most readily available here in New England. Diesel generators can be installed for residential applications though they tend to be much more expensive, and require more maintenance and attention on the part of the homeowner. Our recommendation for most residential applications, is a natural gas or propane generator. Often, customers ask about gasoline run generators. In a standby application, gasoline generators are just not reliable. There are many variables that can cause malfunction and ultimately, a generator that may not operate in an emergency situation
